Where most businesses are

Everyone in your business is using AI.
Nobody has been taught the basics.

A few people are quietly good with it. Most are treating it like a search engine and getting search engine answers back. One or two are pasting things into it that should never leave the building, and they do not know that is what they are doing.

Then a client, an auditor or a tender asks what AI training your staff have had. "They use ChatGPT" is a shrug. A certificate from an independent UK body is an answer.

The Foundation puts the whole team on the same floor: what AI is, what it is for, how to check it, and what must never go near it. Everything else we do stands on it.

What Foundation means

The floor every member of staff should stand on.

The UK AI Council sets the syllabus and writes the courseware. Foundation is the first rung of its professional pathway, and it was built for a team in any industry, so it asks for no technical background at all.

AI literacy

What these tools are, what they are good at, what they get wrong, and how to tell the difference when the answer looks confident.

Responsible use at work

The habits that keep a business out of trouble. What you can put in, what you must never put in, and how to check output before it goes to a client.

Vendor neutral

It does not favour Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot or Gemini. The skills carry across all of them, so they still hold when your business changes tool.

Ignite AI is accredited by the UK AI Council to deliver this certification. The exam content is the Council's and is confidential. We prepare you for it and we do not teach the paper.

How it runs

Remote, self paced, finished when you are ready.

Enrol

You tell us who is doing it. We register each person with the UK AI Council and send them their access.

Work through the courseware

Online, at each person's own pace, around the working week. Nobody has to block out a day or travel anywhere.

Sit the exam

Remotely, when ready. The exam is set and marked by the Council, so the result means the same thing wherever it is seen.

Certificate and badge

Each person who passes receives the UKAIC AI Foundation certificate and a digital badge for LinkedIn and their email signature.

Train on your own work

Foundation is the floor. The Claude training day is where the team builds things on their real jobs, and the governance layer is where the red lines get written down.

What it costs

£299 + VAT per person. Courseware and exam included.

Our training days are priced by the day because one room costs the same whether ten people or twenty are in it. The Foundation is priced per person because the Council issues one certificate per candidate, and that is the thing you are paying for.

Beyond VAT there is nothing to add on afterwards. The courseware and the exam sitting are in the price. See all pricing.

Why through us

Accredited by the Council.
Run by a practitioner.

The UK AI Council is the independent membership body building AI capability across the UK, so that organisations develop, adopt and govern AI responsibly. That is the same three part job we do for SMEs: train the people, build the system, govern the use.

We run our own business on these tools every day. When a candidate gets stuck on a point in the courseware, the person answering has used it on a real client that week.

Accredited

An Accredited Training Provider for the UK AI Council, accredited to deliver this certification. See the accreditation.

A floor, then a ladder

Foundation gives every member of staff the same base. Claude training, governance and Claude for Teams are the next rungs, and we run all three.

Governance built in

Responsible use is in the syllabus. We teach it against UK GDPR and ISO 42001, because that is what your auditor will ask about.

Who it is for

Every member of staff. Any industry.

This fits

  • A business that wants everyone on the same base before buying any tool
  • A team that already uses AI and has never agreed what good looks like
  • Operations, finance, marketing, sales, admin and the people who manage them
  • Anyone who will be asked, by a client or a tender, what AI training they have had
  • Owners and directors who want the certificate before they ask their staff to get it

What comes next

Engineering teams wanting API and agent work are better served elsewhere. Foundation is for the people who use AI, which is everyone else.

Questions

The ones people ask first.

Is this an accredited course?

Yes. Ignite AI is an Accredited Training Provider for the UK AI Council, accredited to deliver the UKAIC AI Foundation certification. The syllabus and the exam are the Council's. We enrol you, support you through it and stand behind the result.

Who issues the certificate?

The UK AI Council. On passing, each candidate receives a UKAIC AI Foundation certificate and a digital badge they can put on LinkedIn and in an email signature.

How long does it take?

It is self paced. Enrol, work through the courseware when it suits, then sit the exam remotely when you are ready. Most people fit it around a normal working week rather than blocking out a day.

Do people need a technical background?

No. Foundation is built for every member of staff in any industry. There is no coding, no maths and no engineering in it.

Do we need Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot licences?

No. The Foundation is vendor neutral. It is about using AI well and responsibly at work, whichever tool your business ends up with. Tool specific training comes afterwards, on your own work.

What does it cost?

£299 + VAT per person, with the courseware and the exam included. It is priced per person because the Council issues one certificate per candidate.

Can one person enrol, or does it have to be a team?

Teams enrol through the contact form and we register everyone with the Council in one go. If you are one person, use the same form and say so.

One certificate.
The whole team on the same floor.

Tell us how many people and we will register them with the Council this week.
